Where and when will the conference be held? The 6th biennial Encephalon Symposium – Revealing the Hidden: Advancements in Imaging and Neurodevelopment will be held on the 7th December 2023 at the MPI for Multidisciplinary Sciences – Faßberg-Campus in Göttingen, Germany (Am Faßberg 11, 37077 Göttingen).
When does the registration open? The registration opens on 4th July 2023.
What is the deadline for registration? The deadline for registering as a participant is the 15th November 2023.
How much is the registration fee? The registration fee for participating is 10€. If you register to present a poster you only need to pay 5€.
When will I receive the registration confirmation and acceptance email? As soon as you register you will get an automatically generated email as confirmation for your registration. In this email we will provide you with our bank account details for registration fee payment. After receiving your payment we will contact you as soon as possible with a confirmation of payment.
I changed my mind about participating in the conference. Can I withdraw and get a full refund? You can withdraw your registration by writing an email to the Encephalon Organizing Team. Unfortunately, we cannot give you a refund of the participation fee.
Will there be a conference booklet? Yes, there will be a conference booklet including the program, speaker information, abstracts of the talks and the posters.
Will I get a certificate of participation in the conference? When will I receive it? Yes. You will receive a certificate of attendance by email after the conference.
Can I collect credits for participating in the conference? Yes. You can collect credits for attendance and for presenting a poster. Please follow the instructions of the respective university office (GGNB, GAUSS, IMPRS…) to collect credits.
Will lunch be provided at the conference? A meal and drinks during the lunch break and snacks during the coffee breaks will be included in the registration fee. We will also provide a vegan meal option.
Posters
What is the deadline for abstract submission? The abstract for your poster needs to be submitted latest 31st October 2023. Please upload your poster abstract to the abstract submission form that you received after registration. You do not need to send us the poster in advance, just the abstract for the poster. Please bring your poster on the day of the conference.
What poster size is recommended? We recommend a poster size 1×1 m or DIN A0 (portrait).
Can one student / researcher submit more than one abstract / poster? No. Each student / researcher can only submit one abstract and one poster.
Can I make changes to the abstract after its submission? No. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change the abstract after its submission.
Can there be more than one presenter? Yes. You can present the poster together with a coauthor.
I changed my mind about participating in the poster session. Can I withdraw? If you changed your mind about participating in the poster session, write us an e-mail and we will withdraw your abstract. However, you will have to pay the difference for the registration fee (additional 5€).
I registered as a participant without presenting a poster. I changed my mind and would like to present a poster. Is this change possible? If the deadline of abstract submission for posters has not passed yet, you can still apply for presenting a poster. Please write us an e-mail with your poster abstract. Unfortunately, we cannot refund you the difference of 5€ in the registration fee.
Is it necessary to stand by my poster all the time during the poster session? We recommend being at your poster to get in contact with other participants and panel speakers who are interested in your research. However, you can also walk around and have a look at other posters.
Will I get a certificate of participation in the poster session? When will I receive it? If you present a poster, this will be enclosed in the certificate of participation, which will be sent to you after the conference.

Can I submit the abstract that was also presented at other conferences? Yes.
